The Founder, President & CEO, Mr. Nandkumaarr Awatramanii founded the company in October 2002.
The company is a sister concern of a large hospitality group, owning many hotels, restaurants, bars in India and abroad.
The company is also a major player in the alcoholic beverage distribution market as well as several other businesses.
The current portfolio under the Mardi Gras Restaurants P Limited banner consists of Food Factory Express. MGR
has incubated its brand in the India’s most competitive & difficult retail market, Mumbai, and based on its learning MGR is now set to expand to other potential cities
in India & abroad. Currently MGR has 6 company owned outlets and several franchised outlets outlets across Mumbai and is expected to cross 32 by the mid of May 2007.
Mr. Nandkumaarr Awatramanii, described as a buzzing entrepreneur by many publications of news and trade has always been
intrigued by the power of retail brands that are visible, accessible and affordable by a broad customer base.He
intended to create a concept of selling Quality Italian food at Fast-Food prices. He chose Italian as it is the
only cuisine thathas a resemblance in basic taste to the Indian cuisine and he believes, The Italian cuisine is
the only other cuisines that will make a permanent impression on the palettes of Indians.
Food Factory™, a part of Mardi Gras restaurants P Limited is the leader in the Italian Fast Food business.
It was founded in October 2002. Food Factory was the first to identify the Italian cuisine as the next big thing in the food retail business.
MGR decided to expand through a chain of corporate stores within Mumbai initially before expanding to various potential
cities all over the country.

In late 2002, fueled by inspiration, MGR launched the first ever quick Self Service Italian eaterie, specializing in Giant Pizzas & Imported Pastas at the lowest rates. FOOD FACTORY™ EXPRES- PIZZAS, PASTAS & MORE "Pait bhar jaye" (Wholesome meal in Rs.69/-), targeting all food counters in majority of the malls.
Although the business arena is bursting with competition, Food Factory in a short span of time has distinguished
itself and come to emerge as the cities market leader due to its unwavering commitment to quality Italian Food
available to a large customer base at very Value for money rates.
-Today the company has several franchised outlets across the country. The company has signed new franchisees to open in Mumbai / Chennai / NCR / New Mumbai and Pune in the year 2006 and plans to reach over 100 outlets nationally by the end of 2009.

overall business plan is ready to go national. . It is targeting all TIER 1, II AND III cities nationwide.
